Project Objective

The research will help to broaden the understanding of the influence of the metabolic syndrome on the dysfunction of the endothelium of the heart blood vessels and to explain the mechanism of VEGF's autocrine action, which leads to impaired blood vessel formation and increased microvascular permeability in the heart. The isolated endothelial cells of the blood vessels of the heart of mice with metabolic syndrome, on which the research will be conducted, will allow to precisely determine the role these cells play in the pathogenesis of heart failure observed in this disease.
