Evaluation of the usefulness of monitoring antibodies against donor histocompatibility antigens in renal transplant patients in the stratification of immunological risk of graft loss
The project is of great clinical importance because it addresses important issues that may affect the survival of the transplanted kidney and the recipient. In addition, it is based on the latest methods of immunological monitoring of the recipient of the transplanted organ. Determining the presence and class of antibodies against the donor's tissue capacity antigens and determining their importance in predicting the emergence of humoral rejection may be of great importance for further patient management. If the research hypotheses are confirmed, DSA monitoring will play an important role in the future planning of care for a transplant patient.
The project opens up the possibility of creating criteria for modifying immunosuppressive therapy, organizing more frequent check-ups, and taking other steps to prevent transplant failure in the course of humoral rejection. In the long term, the results could help to reduce the number of people who develop kidney failure in a transplant.
