Education of doctors in the field of vaccination of children with autism spectrum disorders

The main goals of the project are: • education of doctors in the field of knowledge about vaccinations for children • education of doctors in the field of knowledge about vaccinations for children with ASD • education of doctors in the field of communication techniques with parents of children with ASD as a group of parents with special needs in the field of information about vaccinations . • education of medical students at a medical university in the field of vaccinology; • education of medical students at a medical university in the field of communication with patients on vaccination. The above goals may be achieved thanks to the research into the attitudes and needs of parents of children with ASD carried out in the initial phase of the project. The research results will be used for the best, targeted preparation of an educational package for doctors of various specialties, with particular emphasis on primary care physicians, paediatricians and psychiatrists who have the most frequent contact with parents of children with ASD. By conducting lectures at conferences and workshops, it will be possible to increase the knowledge of doctors in the field of vaccination and communication techniques when talking to patients about vaccinations. The project covers at least 500 family doctors, paediatricians, and psychiatrists as part of lectures at medical conferences, as well as specialization workshops for specific groups of doctors. The educational process will also cover medical university students as part of additional lectures on vaccinology and patient communication techniques.
