  1. Research projects should include a mature concept of the solution to the problem in question.
  1. Grant cost-estimate must include the VAT

The VAT under the grant shall be taken into consideration at two levels. Firstly, the tax should be taken into account in budget items regarding foreign procurement/service performance; thus, a gross amount should be entered into the cost-estimate. Additionally, due to the fact that at the stage of grant implementation, specific instalments of the funds will be paid based on VAT invoices issued by MUW for the Nutricia Foundation (Fundacja Nutricia), the value of the entire grant must be multiplied by 1.23, i.e. the amount of VAT to be financed by MUW. It should be remembered that as regards research grants, the maximum amount of the subsidy is PLN 250,000 gross, and as regards supervised project grant – PLN 100,000 gross.

  1. Amount of overheads

In accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Call, the amount of the overheads may not exceed 20% of the general amount of the co-financing. According to the Accounting Policy of the Medical University of Warsaw, the cost-estimate attached to the application should foresee the maximum allowed amount of overheads, i.e. 20%.

  1. Approval of the Bioethics Committee

In accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Call, the approval of the Bioethics Committee should be submitted along with the application. Applications without the Committee’s approval will not be examined.

  1. Costs of Remuneration

When including the costs of remuneration in the grant cost-estimate, one should remember that they should include the “gross gross” costs, i.e. cover also the mark-ups on the part of the employee and employer (29.81%).

  1. Grant Financing Agreement

When preparing the application, not only should one read the Rules and Regulations of the Call, but also the template of the grant agreement available under this link: https://www.fundacjanutricia.pl/documents/activity/21.02.02_Umowa_o_finansowanie_2021.pdf . It may appear that the requirements regarding the grant implementation affect e.g. the shape of your application.
